Game ON: New Skills Gaming and Virtual Training Application by Tradiebot

Tradiebot has evolved its virtual training environment with state-of-the-art gaming elements to attract the future generation of skilled workers into trade related industries with automotive being the initial focus.

The Australian developed application combines the very latest of virtual reality hardware such as the Intel Hades Canyon NUC PC and Facebooks Oculus Rift S VR headset that drives the innovative software solutions. Proving users, the ability to try virtual new trade skills whilst enjoying gaming elements such as avatars, competitive scoring, building and customising cars, and encourages them to achieve a high score to have their vehicle showcased in a virtual showroom.

Tradiebot is set to launch the application in July 2020 with their two core partners, The Motor Trades Association of South Australia and the Department of Education NSW who will commence the roll out of the solution via schools and innovation hubs targeting school students.

Industry giants, 3M and Suncorp have thrown their support behind the solution that provides students the ability to engage and connect to potential apprenticeships and job seekers with employers and managing their ongoing progress through the added mobile application.

With COVID-restrictions affecting human interaction and travel, it has made traditional forms of training more difficult, with businesses and training organizations looking for alternative ways to deliver skills training. Digital remote solutions such as Tradieforce are breaking down these barriers and enabling training to be undertaken at any time, location and at a pace that is suitable to each individual.

Learner engagement is increased when a user enters a virtual world as the real world around them disappears and they become less susceptible to interruptions that may occur around them, becoming more engaged by the material and are more likely to retain the information.

Tradiebot is providing the ability to train, assess, and connect with the next generation using hardware such as VR headsets which they are accustomed to using whilst trying to fill the existent skills shortage that has been evident in the spray-painting trade for some time. The Tradieforce app will commence with the spray-painting skill with future updates to include additional skills such as metal welding.

The application offers training organizations an online portal, providing analytics that captures and tracks a whole host of information that includes, statistics for previous attempts, time taken, paint used, session recordings, and a whole lot more to assist trainers in tracking progress and identifying any areas of concern.

Tradiebot is using gamification to provide school students, job seekers, and employees with the relevant trade skills, training, and assessments in an enjoyable and familiar way, rewarding users with unlockable features and achievements based on progress. Virtual Reality and gamification also generate enthusiasm and competitiveness between users, further increasing outcomes.
